Welcome to Harrow International School Shanghai
This exceptional day and boarding school for students aged 2-18, founded in Britain in 1572, counts royalty and prime ministers among its eminent alumni. This new school in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, 30 minutes from the centre of Shanghai, will be open for students up to Year 8 from August 2016; Year 9 to Year 10 from August 2017; and Year 11 to 13 in August 2018.
Harrow International School Shanghai will be the fourth international school in its growing family. While not seeking to replicate the unique qualities that make its British-based schools leaders in private U.K education, the outstanding culture that sets this school apart from its peers will be present.
The combination of high academic goals, a rich extracurricular program and unrivaled pastoral care create a learning environment in which leaders and high achievers are nurtured and excel. Harrow International is proud that its students consistently score above the U.K. average for iGCSE and A-level examinations.
Harrow International School Shanghai is a great boarding school
Boarding, which is available from Year 6, is integral to the life of the school and is expected to be available from late 2017. The House is central to the life of students and from Year 9 all students, including day students, will be placed in boarding Houses. The pastoral care offered by Harrow International gives insight into the academic, physical, social and emotional wellbeing of each student. This allows staff to respond to concerns that may arise in any of these areas, while identifying areas in which students excel.
The facilities at the Shanghai campus will be integrated with commercial, business, residential and recreational zones, offering students access to a golf course, rugby pitch, tennis clubs, and a lake for water sports.
